Course Description
Saunters Elite is an advanced hiking program made possible with support from the Ice Age Trail Alliance. This course is focused on combating child-hood obesity, preventing summer learning loss, and mitigating nature deficit disorder. Students will hike three unique Ice Age Trail segments around the Janesville area ranging from 8-12 miles. Students will be expected to carry their lunch, snacks, and an adequate water supply for the entire hike and need to be physically prepared to hike these distances. Students will receive a Saunters t-shirt at the end of the course.*After registration, please email nboys@janesville.k12.wi.us the students name and T-shirt size
This course is offered from July 15–17.
Students, staff, and volunteers will load the bus each day from Parker High School and travel up to one hour away to a segment of the Ice Age Trail.
